After a busy — but relatively goalless — weekend, Charles Gooch (The Full 90) and Andy Edwards (NBC Pro Soccer Talk) gather around the microphones to discuss the prime talkin’ points from Sporting Kansas City and Major League Soccer.

The first part opens with Sporting KC’s goalless draw with the Portland Timbers. Why is Sporting struggling to find its offensive identity and what changes might Peter Vermes need to make to jump start the slow start? Also, a preview KC’s trip to Yankee Stadium to face expansion side New York City FC. Give it a listen here (or on iTunes, RSS or the show’s podcast page).

In part two, Andy and Charles dig deeper into the league as a whole looking at the few games that actually featured goals, talk about MLS continued expansion plans and wonder aloud why the league insists upon scheduling games during FIFA international breaks (but schedules bye weeks for teams during non-international breaks).

Special thanks to the excellent band Deco Auto for letting us use the songs “One of a Million,” “Turning Down” and “Deco Stomp.” Listen to more of their music here.
