The U.S. national women’s soccer team was drawn into Group A for the 2014 CONCACAF Women’s Championship, which will be played at four sites, including Sporting Park, from Oct. 15-26.

The U.S. team will take on Trinidad & Tobago at Sporting Park at 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 15. Before that game, Guatemala will play Haiti at 6 p.m. On Oct. 16, Jamaica will play Martinique at 6 p.m., followed by Costa Rica vs. Mexico at 8:30 p.m. Both games are at Sporting Park.

The U.S. team, which is in Group A, also will play Guatemala and Haiti in first-round play.

The championship and third-place games of the tournament will be Oct. 26 at PPL Park in Chester, Pa.

The other sites for the games are in Bridgeview, Ill, and Washington, D.C.

The winners of the semifinal matches and the third-place game will qualify for the 2015 Women’s World Cup in Canada. The fourth-place finisher will advance to a two-game playoff against the third-place team from South America for a berth in the World Cup.

“An opponent at this point is an opponent standing between us and the World Cup,” U.S. head coach Jill Ellis said in a news release. “We will prepare for every team with the same respect, resolve and planning while making sure our focus is on our performance. We will approach every game with the intent of maximizing our points and getting to the semifinal.”
