ABOUT SPORTING KC (12-13-7, 43 points): The club can clinch a sixth consecutive postseason berth if it wins Sunday and Portland fails to defeat Colorado. But Sporting KC has won only once in its last 14 road games. It will play without defender Jimmy Medranda, who is serving a one-game suspension for yellow card accumulation. But winger Graham Zusi (calf) is ready for a return to the starting lineup.

ABOUT REAL SALT LAKE (12-11-9, 45 points): With a victory Sunday, Real Salt Lake would clinch a spot in the playoffs. The club has lost only once at home this season. But it hasn't played its best soccer over the past month. During a five-game winless skid, Real Salt Lake has been shut out three times.

BOTTOM LINE: Sporting KC is winless in its last six trips to rival Real Salt Lake.

PREDICTION: Real Salt Lake 1, Sporting KC 1
