Chiefs fullback James Baker missed the first practice of training camp on Monday due to personal reasons, the team announced.
Baker, who is listed at 6 feet 2 and 228 pounds, was signed as a rookie free agent out of Idaho, where he played running back and led the Vandals in rushing last season with 617 yards and six touchdowns. He also caught eight passes for 177 yards and three touchdowns.
Baker posted impressive pro day numbers, according to NFLDraftScout.com, as he ran a 4.55 40-yard dash, bench-pressed 225 times 27 times and posted a 37-inch vertical jump.
