The Chiefs released offensive tackle Colin Kelly on Tuesday.

Kelly, 24, is listed at 6 feet 5 and 298 pounds. He signed with the team as an undrafted free agent out of Oregon State in May 2013 but landed on injured reserve when he suffered a knee injury in July.

The move leaves the Chiefs with five guards (Zach Fulton, Jeff Allen, Ricky Henry, Otis Hudson and Rishaw Johnson) and only 89 players on the roster. The NFL allows each team to carry 90 players in the offseason.

Absences continue

Outside linebacker Justin Houston and cornerback Brandon Flowers were not present for the fourth straight practice of organized team activities. The team has not given an official reason for the absence of either.

Neither is required to show up for the duration of the voluntary sessions, which are scheduled to take place Wednesday, Thursday and June 10-13.

Mandatory organized team activities are scheduled for June 17. The practices on June 18 and June 19 are mandatory, as well.

Injury report

Receiver A.J. Jenkins did not practice because of a hamstring injury. Tight end Travis Kelce (knee), receiver Kyle Williams (knee) and defensive tackle Risean Broussard (knee) also did not practice.

Left tackle Eric Fisher (shoulder) participated in practice but was limited, much like he has been throughout the sessions.

Cornerback David Van Dyke also missed practice for an undisclosed reason.
