Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is playing host to his first fundraiser Thursday night, and he’s going to have some help from his teammates.
The event, which is called “Travis Kelce’s Kickoff Dinner,” will be held at 7 p.m. at the Plaza III Steakhouse in Kansas City. It will benefit Kelce’s “Dreambuilders” program, which supports Blessings in a Backpack and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City.
It will give attendees the opportunity to mix and mingle with Kelce and some of his teammates while watching the season-opening Thursday night game between the New England Patriots and Pittsburgh Steelers.
Guests will receive a meal prepared by the restaurant’s chefs, in addition to complimentary drinks. It will also feature a live and silent auction filled with unique memorabilia and experiences.
“I am really excited to be hosting my first fundraiser,” Kelce said in a statement. “I am very passionate about helping those less fortunate here in this community, and this event will help us make a big impact on the lives of those who need help. It will be a fun night, and I am really looking forward to it.”
Blessings in a Backpack is a non-profit organization that provides backpacks filled with healthy foods for disadvantaged kids to take home on weekends, when they do not have access to school meals.
