Scenarios for Chiefs, Broncos to clinch playoff spots Sunday

It’s time to start scoreboard watching. There’s a possibility the winner of Sunday’s Chiefs-Broncos game can clinch a playoff spot.

There are a lot of ifs, but here goes, according to the NFL:

The Chiefs can clinch, according to any of the following scenarios, if:

• The Chiefs win AND San Diego loses or ties, Tennessee loses or ties and the N.Y. Jets and Baltimore lose.

• The Chiefs win AND San Diego loses or ties, Tennessee loses or ties and Miami and New England lose.

• The Chiefs win AND San Diego loses or ties, Tennessee loses or ties and Miami and the N.Y. Jets tie.

• The Chiefs win AND San Diego loses or ties, Tennessee loses or ties and Baltimore and Pittsburgh tie.

• The Chiefs win AND San Diego loses or ties, Miami and New England lose and Baltimore and Pittsburgh tie.

• The Chiefs win AND San Diego loses or ties, Miami and the N.Y. Jets tie and Baltimore and Pittsburgh tie.

• The Chiefs win AND Tennessee loses or ties, Miami and the N.Y. Jets tie and Baltimore and Pittsburgh tie.

The Broncos can clinch, according to any of the following scenarios, if:

• The Broncos win AND San Diego loses or ties, Tennessee loses or ties and the N.Y. Jets and Baltimore lose.

• The Broncos win AND San Diego loses or ties, Tennessee loses or ties and Baltimore and Pittsburgh tie.

• The Broncos win AND San Diego loses or ties, Tennessee loses or ties and Miami and the N.Y. Jets tie.

• The Broncos win AND San Diego loses or ties and Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Miami and the N.Y. Jets tie.

• The Broncos win AND Tennessee loses or ties and Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Miami and the N.Y. Jets tie.
