The Chiefs on Tuesday waived wide receiver Junior Hemingway and offensive lineman Tavon Rooks, placed linebacker Justin March on the injured reserved list and put quarterback Tyler Bray on the non-football injury list.
Hemingway was a seventh-round pick out of Michigan in 2012 who caught 25 passes for two touchdowns the last two seasons. Rooks was a free agent from Kansas State.
That got the Chiefs down to 75 players on their active roster. They have to get to 53 by Saturday.
Hemingway caught 25 passes with two touchdown receptions over the previous two seasons. He was a seventh-round selection in 2012 from Michigan. Rooks, a sixth-round pick by the Saints in 2014, was a free agent from Kansas State.
