Wide receiver Jason Avant returned to Chiefs practice on Wednesday. He had missed the previous two days because of a hip strain.

Otherwise, the injury report remained the same: offensive lineman Jeff Allen (spained knee) and left tackle Eric Fisher (MCL sprain), quarterback Tyler Bray (ACL tear), tight end Demetrius Harris (foot surgery), receiver Junior Hemingway (hip strain), inside linebacker Justin March (meniscus tear), nose tackle Dontari Poe (back) and offensive tackle Tavon Rooks (shortness of breath) and wide receiver De’Anthony Thomas (calf) did not practice.

Linebacker Josh Mauga (Achilles) “did a little bit, then we pulled back on him,” Andy Reid said. “He’s making progress.”

The Chiefs meet the Tennessee Titans on Friday at Arrowhead Stadium in the third preseason game, the last one before NFL squads cut their rosters from 90 to 75 by Sept. 1.
