In a meeting of Truman Sports Complex minds, Chiefs coach Andy Reid took in a Royals spring training game in March and briefly visited with manager Ned Yost.
“In spring training you can sit real close,” Reid said. “I was on the screen and he was in front, so we were talking through the screen. He was telling me a little bit about the things that they do, strategically, at that time, opposed to now during the season, and how they go about working up to the season.
“We also talked a little bit about his players and then I kind of snuck out after about the fifth or sixth inning. Those were tight seats. My rear end and those seats weren’t a match.”
