Chiefs offensive lineman Jeff Allen makes his living on the gridiron but on Wednesday, he will make an appearance on the baseball diamond.
Allen, a University of Illinois graduate, will throw out the first pitch Wednesday night when the Chicago White Sox play host to the St. Louis Cardinals on Illini night.
Allen, a second-round pick of the Chiefs in 2012, is a Chicago native who was a four-year starter at tackle for the Illini from 2008 to 2011. He started 47 games for the Illini during his career.
He is expected to compete for a starting job at right guard and right tackle for the Chiefs this year.
