The Chiefs have signed cornerback Kenneth Penny and waived guard Melvin Meggs and cornerback De’Vante Bausby, the team announced Thursday.
The moves bring the Chiefs’ roster number to 89, one below the offseason maximum.
Bausby, who is listed at 6 feet 2 and 180 pounds, signed with the team as a priority rookie free agent following the draft. He has missed the last several practices after fracturing his collarbone while contesting a pass. He had surgery on his collarbone Thursday, Chiefs coach Andy Reid said.
Provided Bausby clears waivers, he could potentially be placed on injured reserve.
