Running back De'Anthony Thomas headlines the Chiefs' list of inactive players heading into their week two showdown against the Denver Broncos at 3:25 p.m.
Thomas has been battling a sore hamstring for the better part of two weeks. Frankie Hammond will likely replace him on punt returns again.
The Chiefs' other inactives are quarterback Aaron Murray, receiver Albert Wilson, running back Joe McKnight, cornerback Jamell Fleming, guard Laurent Duvernay-Tardif and defensive end Damion Square.
That means newly signed defensive end Kevin Vickerson, who was brought in to replace the run-stuffing void caused by Mike DeVito's injury, will play Sunday. So will veteran safety Kurt Coleman, who was inactive in the season opener.
Defensive end Jaye Howard will get the start in DeVito's place. Chiefs coach Andy Reid said he expected Howard and Vance Walker to compete for playing time in DeVito's absence, though Vickerson brings a physical presence and could see some action.
With starting right tackle Jeff Allen lost for the season, Ryan Harris will get the start in his place.
