Running back De'Anthony Thomas and cornerback Marcus Cooper headline the Chiefs' list of inactive players heading into their season opener against the Tennessee Titans today at noon.

Thomas has been battling a sore hamstring, while Cooper is dealing with an injured ankle. The team said both were hurt during Wednesday's practice.

Thomas is the Chiefs' starting punt returner, and with Dwayne Bowe out Sunday because of a suspension, figured to play a role on offense, too. Chiefs coach Andy Reid said Friday that Frankie Hammond would replace him on punt return.

Cooper is one of the Chiefs' starting cornerbacks, along with veteran Sean Smith. Veteran Ron Parker, who spent a significant portion of the preseason with the first-team unit ahead of Smith, will take his place.

The Chiefs' other inactives are quarterback Aaron Murray, safety Kurt Coleman, center Eric Kush, guard Laurent Duvernay-Tardif and defensive end Damion Square.
