Here is former All-Pro Chuck Smith’s top-five pass rushers in today’s NFL:

1. OLB Aldon Smith, 49ers: “The most complete rusher in the game. He has every rush in his pass-rush tool box … and can rush from any position on the front seven.”

2. DE Robert Quinn, Rams: “His get-off and speed rush would have made Derrick Thomas smile. He’s 2014’s version of the greatest speed rusher in history.”

3. OLB Robert Mathis, Colts: “He spins like Bruce Smith and speed rushes like Lawrence Taylor … great motor, too.”

4. DE J.J. Watt, Texans: “Lightning quick, active hands and hips. Incredible lateral movement and change of direction. The NFL better hope he never plays in a true 4-3 scheme as a three-tech, pass-rush records will fall.”

5. OLB Tamba Hali, Chiefs: “Plays with great effort … he works on his skill, is a student of the game … can win with inside and outside moves which make him hard to stop.”
