Royals’ ‘Rally Mantis’ is traveling in style with team on road trip

When the Royals beat Toronto on Sunday, it secured their first series win since June. It also coincided with the appearance of a Praying Mantis in the team’s dugout.

When the Royals beat the White Sox on Thursday night and clinched a second straight series victory, there was no doubt that the traveling party to Minnesota would be bigger than usual. Yep, the Praying Mantis will be going with the team on the road trip to Minnesota and then Detroit.

That’s quite an upgrade from the shoebox that the Praying Mantis was being kept in at one point.

In fact, Dillon Gee posted this once the team got to Minnesota:

It’s interesting to see how the players have taken to the insect. Royals pitcher Peter Moylan shared this funny exchange on Twitter regarding the Mantis:
