This all started innocently.
In the fourth inning of Tuesday night’s Royals-Indians game, Cleveland’s Yan Gomes singled but was thrown out trying to stretch it into a double. Royals outfielder Jarrod Dyson caught Gomes, and it was Dyson’s seventh outfield assist of the season.
Royals fan Jared Speckman took to Twitter to express his admiration for Dyson.

That apparently gnawed at the person running the Indians’ Twitter account, because they fired back:
And just like that, it was on.
Things didn’t get too crazy, however. Each side showed a little respect for each other.
Even in the middle of the Twitter discussion, the Indians let it be known that there were no hard feelings.
Ditto for Speckman.
