Dwyane Wade surprised 'Waffle House' hero on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show'

James Shaw Jr., the man known as the "Waffle House Hero," had a big surprise when he visited Ellen DeGeneres on Monday.

Shaw, who took a gun from a shooter at a Waffle House in Tennessee, told DeGeneres that he was a big basketball fan. She asked about his favorite player, and Shaw said it was Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade.

“I like the way he carries himself off the court,” Shaw said.

“Oh yeah? Well, let’s see how he carries himself out there,” DeGeneres replied.

Shaw seemed amazed to be sitting next to Wade.

Nashville police said at least four are dead after suspect Travis Reinking opened fire at a Waffle House restaurant April 22. A customer at the restaurant was able to take the gun from the shooter who then fled the scene.
