For Pete's Sake

Ryan Shazier walking on the stage was one of NFL Draft's best moments

It was no surprise that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell was booed lustily on the first day of the NFL Draft in Arlington, Texas.

Commissioners aren't generally popular, and Cowboys fans were displeased with Goodell's suspension of running back Ezekiel Elliott last year. So the boos rained down on Goodell on Thursday night.

But one of the biggest surprises was seeing Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier walk on the stage to announce Pittsburgh's first-round pick. It was an awesome moment.

Shazier suffered a spinal injury during the Steelers' game against the Bengals in December. ESPN reported in February that Shazier had started to walk again, but few had seen that before Thursday night.

Here was the moment that Shazier walked with fiancee Michelle Rodriguez to meet Goodell:

After his big moment, Shazier tweeted: "I’m truly blessed and humbled from all the prayers, love, and support that I have received . This is what keeps me going. Just continue to #Shalieve"

NFL players showed their support for Shazier:
