It’s apparently a Pro Bowl tradition to have veterans stick the rookies with a hotel bill that includes charges from some of the other veterans.
Broncos linebacker Von Miller was asked about this practice after the AFC won the Pro Bowl 24-23 in Orlando, Fla.
Apparently, Miller’s target was Chiefs rookie Kareem Hunt.
“I’ve got to confess,” Miller said on the NFL Network. “I found out Kareem Hunt’s room and I just put myself on it. He’s a Chiefs and he’s a rookie, too. I love you guys, I love you all, but ...”
On Thursday, the Post Game shared a short interview with Hunt, who said Miller took it easy on him. But Hunt won’t let it slide.
“If he did, oh, well, I checked this. It wasn’t too bad,” Hunt said. “I’m gonna get him back. Just know, he better not let me catch him slipping.”
Chiefs fans will be glad to know that Hunt can hold his own with Miller. Hunt relayed a story from one of the two Chiefs’ victories over the Broncos last year. The Chiefs beat the Broncos 29-19 at Arrowhead Stadium on Oct. 30 and won 27-24 in Denver on Dec. 31.
Hunt was asked if Miller talked trash this season.
“He was talking trash to me during the game and I’m like, man, look at the scoreboard,” Hunt said. “That’s all I told him. I told him that on the field, because I tried to block him. He’s like, ‘You know you can’t block me’ and all this stuff. I was like, ‘Alright, look at the scoreboard.’ ”
