Did you know that the White Sox play in Chicago?
Of course you did, but White Sox fans sometimes wonder why they are sometimes overlooked. For example, ahead of the 2016 World Series, which featured the Cubs playing the Indians, CBS noted that the World Series had not been played in Chicago in 71 years.
Whoops. That overlooked the fact that the White Sox won the 2005 World Series. ESPN compared the championships won in Cleveland and Chicago ... and left out that 2005 title.
Perhaps these slights are why so many White Sox fans were offended when “Wheel of Fortune” had a puzzle that required contestants to name four Chicago sports teams.
