Shaka Smart was introduced as Texas’ new men’s basketball coach on Friday, and he quickly brought up a bad memory for Kansas fans.
Shaka asked how his style fits the Big 12. "It translated pretty well a few years ago in San Antonio." Ouch. First shot across Kansas' bow.

That was the 2011 NCAA Tournament, in which Smart coached VCU to a stunning upset of No. 1-seeded Kansas in the Elite Eight. It was recently ranked by one pundit as the Jayhawks’ second-worst tournament in loss under Bill Self.
