Oklahoma’s Joe Mixon had the last laugh on Saturday.
Ahead of the Sooners’ game against Kansas State, Wildcats’ freshman defensive end Reggie Walker said that taking down Sooners’ running backs Samaje Perine and Mixon wouldn’t be difficult.
In a chat with reporters on Tuesday, Walker said he had asked teammate Jordan Willis, a senior who attended Rockhurst, about the OU running backs.
“He would just tell me that they’re pretty easy to tackle,” Walker told reporters, according to Daily Oklahoman. “If you do your assignments, you know, wrap up and just get them down, they’ll go down if you hit them hard.”

That “easy to tackle” comment lit a fire under Mixon.
The Sooners crushed K-State 38-17 on Saturday, and they had 138 yards rushing. Mixon had a big day. He rushed for 88 yards, caught three passes for 34 yards and a touchdown, and Mixon also threw a touchdown pass for 26 yards.
After the game, he shared this on Instagram.
Kansas State coach Bill Snyder will undoubtedly be unhappy to hear about a Wildcats player providing bulletin-board material for an opponent.
