Mizzou will host ‘Welcome Back Reception’ for wrestler J’den Cox on Wednesday

Olympic bronze medalist J’den Cox will be the guest of honor Wednesday for a “Welcome Back Reception” at 5:30 p.m. inside Memorial Stadium’s Columns Club.

Cox, a senior and two-time NCAA champion at 197 pounds, finished third in the 86-kilogram freestyle wrestling competition Aug. 20 in Rio de Janeiro.

Doors open for the free reception at 5 p.m. and refreshments will be provided.

Tigers wrestling coach Brian Smith and executive associate athletic director Sarah Reesman will offer opening remarks before Cox takes part in a Q&A with Gary Link about his Olympic experience.

The public also will be able to ask Cox questions and he’ll sign autographs and take pictures after the Q&A.

Fans are permitted to bring one item to have autographed and Mizzou will provide special edition autograph cards.
