When Missouri played at Vanderbilt in football last season, Commodores defensive tackle Adam Butler wasn’t a believer in the Tigers. Mizzou’s 51-28 triumph in Nashville made an impression.
“Seems like Missouri sort of snuck on many teams, teams didn’t expect that,” said Butler, a sophomore from Duncanville, Texas.
Butler said Vandy’s victory in Columbia the previous year was a factor in taking the Tigers’ lightly.
“A lot of comments I heard was, ‘They were cake,’ and ‘we should be fine.’ We took them for granted and we paid for it.”
