Kansas junior guard Brannen Greene did not dress for the Jayhawks’ NCAA Sweet 16 game against Maryland on Thursday because of back spasms.

Greene has had back issues during the Big 12 and NCAA Tournaments, with KU coach Bill Self noting after the Jayhawks’ first-round victory over Austin Peay on March 17 that “Brannen’s back has been bothering him and he didn’t move very good today.”

During KU’s pregame warmups at the KFC Yum Center, Greene was wearing sweats and helping collect loose balls. He was joined in sweats by Dwight Coleby, who is sitting out because of NCAA transfer regulations.

Greene was 0 for 1 on three-point attempts in the NCAA Tournament, playing 11 minutes vs. Austin Peay and 9 vs. Connecticut.
