Missouri baseball picked up its first weekly conference award of the season Monday when freshman outfielder Connor Brumfield was announced as the SEC freshman of the week.
Batting leadoff, Brumfield helped the Tigers go 5-0 last week by batting .476 with 10 RBIs, including three game-winning RBIs. He also posted a .577 on-base percentage and .619 slugging percentage with three doubles and 10 total bases.
Brumfield had a walk-off RBI single Sunday in the 10th inning of a 3-2 win against Hofstra, which completed a four-game sweep for Missouri, and had at least one hit in all five games.
The Tigers, 7-2, open their home schedule at 4 p.m. Wednesday against Arkansas-Pine Bluff at Taylor Stadium in Columbia. The game will be streamed on SEC Network-Plus.
