Missouri freshman first baseman Rylee Pierce’s career is off to a sizzling start.
Pierce, a Visalia, Calif., native, was chosen Monday as the SEC softball player of the week after batting .476 with 10 hits, 10 runs scored, three home runs and eight RBIs during six games at the Diamond 9 Citrus Classic in Kissimmee, Fla.
She posted a 1.522 OPS and had at least one hit, run and RBI in each game for the Tigers, who swept all six games.
No. 16 Missouri travels to Cathedral City, Calif., for the Mary Nutter Classic from Thursday to Saturday and will face North Carolina State, Stanford, Colorado State, No. 6 Oregon and BYU.
