NAIA plans ‘Tip-Off Event’ ahead of basketball tournaments

The NAIA will debut a Tip-Off Event for its Division I men’s and women’s basketball tournaments on March 15 in the KC Live! Block of the Power & Light District.

The free event, which starts at 5 p.m., will include all 32 men’s and women’s teams participating in this year’s tournaments. The NAIA men’s tournament is March 16-22 at Municipal Auditorium and the women will play over the same days at Silverstein Eye Centers Arena in Independence. At the March 15 Tip-Off Event, video montages of the teams will play on the high-definition board. There also will be photo opportunities, music and entertainment.

Tickets for the men’s tournament are available online at NAIA.org or by phone at 816-595-8142. All-session tickets start at $75 for adults and single-session tickets start at $15. Tickets for the women’s tournament are available through Ticketmaster or by calling the arena at 800-745-3000. Women’s all-session tickets are $78.50 for adults and $12 for a single session.
