Missouri senior running back Tyler Hunt was announced Tuesday as one of 55 nominees for the Bulsworth Trophy, which is given annually by the Springdale (Ark.) Rotary Club to the most outstanding college football player that started as a walk-on.

Hunt, who has rushed for 139 yards on 20 carries with five catches for 201 yards, was put on scholarship before the 2014 season.

He caught a 78-yard touchdown from Drew Lock in the Tigers’ season-opening win against Southeast Missouri and rattled off a 71-yard run Thursday against Mississippi State.

Hunt is responsible for MU’s four longest plays from scrimmage this season and averages 13.6 yards per touch.
