Baylor had expected to emerge in a new jersey that used the school’s athletic mantra — “Sic ’Em Bears” — on the front. But the NCAA waved its no-no finger at the Bears.
NCAA rules stipulate only a school or a nickname can be stitched to a jersey.
Apparently, Baylor and its apparel company that designed the tops and have essentially turned them into collector’s items, didn’t know this.
Baylor will wear its regular-season uniforms during the postseason, and the Bears have several combinations from which to choose.
