Missouri to start spring football March 11

Football season never really ends anymore.

After the games are finished, there’s the drama of recruiting, the NFL Combine, spring practices and the NFL Draft.

From there, it’s only a few short months until Southeastern Conference media days, followed closely by the start of preseason college camps and another 13-game march to glory or doom.

Unofficially, Missouri — coming off a 12-2 season that included an SEC East title and win against Oklahoma State in the Cotton Bowl — will begin its 2014 season March 11 when spring practice kicks off, according to a release Thursday from the SEC.

Spring football wraps up April 19 with the annual spring game.

Meanwhile, the Tigers’ pro day is scheduled for March 6.

Of course, seven former Missouri players — tackle Justin Britt, defensive end Kony Ealy, cornerback E.J. Gaines, running back Henry Josey, wide receiver Marcus Lucas, defensive end Michael Sam and wide receiver L’Damian Washington — are in Indianapolis this weekend for the NFL Combine.
