Video: KU basketball team tries out the 'Harlem Shake'

You know, team bonding has gotten a little weird in the Internet age.

It used to be all about post-practice meals or some video games. Nowadays? How about a viral video shoot instead?

So, the Kansas mens basketball team joined the growing Harlem Shake internet meme phenomenon. And at this point, well pause to explain what that means. The viral video craze, which has been picking up steam on YouTube for a few weeks, features a pretty consistent formula: the song Harlem Shake by artist Baauer, some goofy dance moves, a few ridiculous costumes, and generally an odd setting.

For instance, the KU video includes Ben McLemore in a Chicken costume, Jeff Withey and Jamari Traylor playing mini-guitars and Kevin Young in some sort of Jason Voorhees-inspired hockey mask. Yeah, weird. (See the video below)

The KU players do have some solid marketing sense. The Jayhawks will play Texas at 8 p.m. on Saturday with ESPNs College Game Day gang in town, and youll probably hear about this at some point on Saturday.

The way the Internet works, well probably forget this happened by Sunday. Just like weve already forgotten about Minnesota coach Tubby Smith

dancing to Ke$ha after the Gophers victory over Wisconsin

earlier this week.
