Missouri senior Laurence Bowers continues to build on an impressive senior campaign.
The 6-foot-8 forward from Memphis was named SEC player of the week on Monday after averaging 17 points and six rebounds in two MU wins last week.
Bowers scored a team-high 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in Missouri’s win over No. 10 Illinois on Saturday, helping the Tigers to their fourth straight win in the annual Braggin’ Rights Game.
Just one year removed from a serious knee injury, Bowers leads Missouri (10-1) in scoring (16.9) and is second in rebounding (6.7). He is also shooting a team-best 57.4 percent from the floor and has made 56.5 percent of his three-pointers.
