K-State’s Brown is All-American by football writers

Kansas State senior linebacker Arthur Brown has been chosen an All-American by the Football Writers Association of America, the organization announced Friday.

Brown, who joined Wildcats quarterback Collin Klein as a second-team All-American by the Associated Press, is the first K-State player chosen to the football writers’ All-America team since current Packers wide receiver Jordy Nelson in 2007.

Klein and Brown were also second-team All-Americans by the Walter Camp Foundation. Safety Ty Zimmerman was a third-team All-American by the AP.

K-State faces Oregon on Jan. 3 in the Fiesta Bowl.

Texas A led the FWAA team with four players, including quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel. Brown was one of three Big 12 players on the team. The Southeastern Conference had 11 players chosen.
