When West Virginia joined the Big 12 this season, the Mountaineers were sadly best known by some as the school where fans burned couches after victories.
But a new video by the West Virginia student government aims to stop the fad.
It even features the Mountaineer mascot, who is led away in mock handcuffs at one point in the video to remind students that burning couches on public streets is, in most places at least, a crime. It also tells students other uses for their couches (besides fire material and for sitting)
