A few interesting Mizzou-related notes from the SEC coaches conference call, held Wednesday…
* Missouri coachGary Pinkel said cornerback Kip Edwards and safety Braylon Webb
– two starters who have been recovering from knee injuries – will probably play in the season opener Saturday against Southeastern Louisiana.
“I think they’ll both play,” Pinkel said. “Braylon is really doing well, he had meniscus surgery 12 days ago. But as we anticipated, he came around pretty quick on that so we expect him to play. Whether he’ll play the whole game or not, I’m not sure.
“Kip Edwards, as of yesterday in practice, would indicate he has a chance of playing at least some of the game.”More praise for Boehm, DGB
Pinkel continued his praise of guard Evan Boehm and Dorial Green-Beckham
, two true freshmen who play see extensive playing time this season, starting in Saturday’s season opener against Southeastern Louisiana.
On Boehm: “He’s a national recruit that lives up, ability-wise, to a national recruit. A lot don’t, but he does. We’re very fortunate to have him help us.”
On DGB: “He’s a great team player. I mention that because those guys have a chance to be really good because they are eager to learn, ask for advice and they take coaching. That’s what he is.”To reach Terez A. Paylor, call 816-234-4489 or send e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. Follow him at twitter.com/TerezPaylor and on Instagram at TerezPaylor.
