Nowhere to go but up for Bears

Missouri State is looking up at the rest of the Missouri Valley Conference in the preseason football poll.

The Bears were picked to finish last in the 10-team league by the media.

Defending national champion North Dakota State received 37 of 38 first-place votes and is ranked first.

Missouri State opens on Sept,. 1 at Kansas State.

South Dakota State, which opens at Kansas on Sept.1, has two members of the preseason all-conference team from Kansas City: wide receiver Aaron Rollin,a senior who attended Lee's Summit West, and defensive back Winston Wright, a junior who went to Blue Springs South.
