ESPN’s “Big Monday” will feature eight-time defending regular-season conference champion Kansas four times, giving the Jayhawks half of the schedule.
Kansas State, in the debut season of coach Bruce Weber, will appear twice.
Mondays have been good to Kansas. The Jayhawks are 45-16 all time on Big Monday, and have won 18 straight home games. They’re 25-1 overall at Allen Fieldhouse on Big Monday since the inception of the Big 12 in 1996-97.
Missouri and Texas A have moved to the Southeastern Conference, but West Virginia gets three spots on the slate. The Mountaineers are used to Big Mondays. They’re coming from the Big East, which opens the double-header with the Big 12.
West Virginia makes its Big 12 debut on Jan. 28 against the Jayhawks, and Mountaineers coach Bob Huggins returns to Kansas State, where he coached in 2007, for a Feb. 18 game.
