NCAA president Mark Emmert, whose organization has dealt with major issues over the past month, will speak at Rockhurst University’s Convocation Center at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 23.
Over two days earlier this month, the NCAA voted to granting governing autonomy to power conferences like the Big 12 and SEC and lost what became known as the Ed O’Bannon case. A federal judge ruled that football and men’s basketball players could cash in on the likeness and image.
Emmert’s speech, which is part of Rockhurst’s Visiting Scholar Lecture Series, is free. To register, call 816-501-4828.
