Football fever? KU fans weigh in on anticipation level for upcoming season

On Friday afternoon, the Kansas football program will officially take the practice field, christening season three under Charlie Weis.

The Jayhawks, armed with a new offensive coordinator and veteran roster, are looking for a breakthrough. It’s been a long time coming.

After five straight losing seasons — including a 9-46 stretch — the Jayhawks are just looking for stability. Kansas fans would certainly take that. The losing, of course, can takes it told. One Big 12 victory over the last three season. No road wins since early 2009.

So in an attempt to gauge the malaise, I took to Twitter on Thursday, putting the question simply: “Scale of 1-10, what's your anticipation level for this football season?”

The results range from 1 (many) to 10 (also many). There were high approval ratings for tailgating, new offensive coordinator John Reagan, and the new look at Memorial Stadium. Hey, it’s not easy being a Kansas football fan. Here’s proof:
