Iowa State to meet Alabama in CBE Classic at Sprint Center

Iowa State will meet Alabama in a CBE Classic semifinal at the Sprint Center on Nov. 24.

The Cyclones will be making their first appearance in the event and playing in the building where they won the Big 12 tournament in March.

The other semifinal pits Maryland against Arizona State. The third-place and championship games are Nov. 25.

Alabama played in the inaugural CBE Classic in 2001, won by Missouri. Maryland appeared in the first CBE played at Sprint Center in 2007.

All games will be televised by an ESPN network.

The tournament is played in conjunction with the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame induction ceremony, which takes place on Nov. 23 at the Midland. This year’s class includes Shaquille O’Neal, Grant Hill, Darrell Griffith and former Maryland coach Gary Williams.
