Kansas’ Perry Ellis and Kansas State’s Thomas Gipson are among 19 members of the Academic All-Big 12 men’s basketball team, the league announced Wednesday.
Ellis, a junior from Wichita, and Gipson, a senior from Cedar Hill, Texas, qualified for the first team by maintaining a GPA of better than 3.2 during the fall semester.
Kansas senior walk-on Christian Garrett and K-State junior Brian Rohleder were also members of the first team.
Ellis, who is a candidate to make the All-Big 12 first team, was on the all-academic second team last season. Gipson is averaging 11.1 points and 4.9 rebounds in his senior season.
