The Chiefs again released receiver Fred Williams on Wednesday.
Williams, 28, is listed at 6 feet and 190 pounds. He was originally signed to the Chiefs’ practice squad in Dec. 2013. Since then, he has been released and re-signed to the practice squad multiple times.
Williams showed flashes of ability last preseason, when he caught 15 passes for 167 yards and three touchdowns. He was released again during final cuts, and was re-signed and released twice more before he agreed to a reserve-futures contract in January.
The Chiefs selected a receiver, Florida’s Marcus Robinson, in the NFL draft last week. Including Robinson, the Chiefs have 11 receivers on the roster heading into organized team activities.
