Qualifying races for the Menards NHRA Heartland Nationals got under way on Friday at Heartland Motorsports Park in Topeka.
Steve Torrrence was ahead of his father Billy Torrence after two rounds of qualifying in Top Fuel. Steve had a top run of the 1,000 feet in 3.77 seconds. Billy had a run of 3.796 seconds.
Courtney Force was the leader after two rounds of Funny Car qualifying. Force ran a race at 3.911 seconds. Jonnie Lindberg was second at 3.962 seconds.
In Pro Stock, it was Erica Enders in the lead after two rounds with a time of 6.625 seconds, just ahead of Vincent Nobile's 6.629.
