Sporting Kansas City announced Monday that it has hired KSHB reporter Kacie McDonnell to be the new host of its pregame and postgame shows and to conduct in-game interviews from the sidelines during locally televised matches in 2015.
McDonnell will join play-by-play announcer Nate Bukaty, color commentator Andy Gruenebaum and analyst Jake Yadrich on the SKCTV broadcast team.
“This is a dream come true,” McDonnell said in a statement released by Sporting KC. “I’ve always thought that if I could get a melting pot and throw sports, news and entertainment into it, I’d have my dream job. Now, I have that and I look forward to working with the SKCTV crew this coming season.”

Sporting KC’s statement said she will also continue her current role with KSHB providing morning traffic updates.
