Major League Baseball reduced Kelvin Herrera’s seven-game suspension to a six-game ban on Thursday, when Herrera began serving the penalty shortly before the Royals concluded their series with Cleveland.

Herrera is eligible to return on Wednesday against Texas. Herrera will be unavailable all weekend in Detroit.

MLB officials heard Herrera’s appeal on Monday. He protested both his five-game suspension for throwing behind Oakland third baseman Brett Lawrie on April 19 and his two-game suspension for joining the brawl with Chicago on April 23. MLB reduced one game from the latter suspension.

Herrera has a 2.19 ERA in 13 appearances this season.
