Fewer than 48 hours before he embarks on his senior season at Rockhurst High School, four-star football recruit A.J. Taylor firmed up his college plans.
Taylor committed to Wisconsin over the weekend, and he did so in unique fashion, using a Monopoly board to reveal his final choice. He moved a game piece to the Badgers’ logo to officially announce his commitment.
A 5-11, 190-pound athlete who can play a variety of positions, Taylor spent time at cornerback, running back and wide receiver for Rockhurst last season. He is rated by Rivals.com as the top recruit in Missouri for his class. He had more than a dozen Division I offers, including ones from Missouri, Kansas and Kansas State.
As a junior last fall, Taylor totaled more than 1,600 all-purpose yards, and he scored 16 touchdowns for the Hawklets, who placed second in Missouri Class 6.
Missouri high schools can start football practice Monday.
