Eudora junior guard Mitchell Ballock had surgery Monday to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder and is expected to miss the high school season.
His mother, LaDonna, told the Lawrence Journal-World that he has been treating the injury in his shooting arm since his freshman season.
Ballock, one of The Star’s 2014-2015 All-Metro second team selections, averaged 20 points, six rebounds and three assists per game as a sophomore. He led the Cardinals to a second place finish in their Kansas Class 4A Division I substate tournament.
Rivals.com has Ballock ranked as the No. 37 recruit in the Class of 2017 and showed offers from a number of Division I programs, including Kansas, Kansas State and Missouri. He is a four-star recruit.
