Notre Dame de Sion came out firing and never let up, which was just by design.
Sion will play for a third consecutive state title on Saturday after dispatching Washington 3-0 in a Class 3 semifinal. The Storm, 23-0, earned the opportunity by operating a high-pressure attack that outshot Washington 11-2 in the first half and 19-5 for the game.
“Our plan was just to play our game,” Sion coach Matt Darby said. “Our key all year long is just to take our game to whoever we play.”
Sion likes to run its offense through leading scorers Meghan Frerking and Gabbi Grimaldi, and both of them found goals for the Storm. Frerking scored Sion’s first goal when she converted a one-on-one after intercepting a short clearing kick outside the box in the 38th minute.

Paige Dussold scored on an assist from Felicia Knox in the 47th minute, and Grimaldi scored the final goal of the game off a rebound on a free kick in the 69th minute.
“We just wanted to possess the ball and play our style and then we knew we would do well,” Grimaldi said.
Sion will play Webster Groves at 4 p.m. Saturday for the title.
